Best Cosmetic Injector

Our Clinic founder Vicki Hull was voted “Best Cosmetic Injector in Noosa 2021” by the readers of The Sunshine Coast Daily. Below are the questions asked to her by the newspaper and published online.

1. How do you feel about being voted the best cosmetic injector in Noosa?

I am humbled and heartened. Several exceptional cosmetic injectors on The Coast excel in their clinical practice, so this quiet the honour. My peers have recognised me within the industry for my contribution over the years. However, to be nominated by my clients as one of the best in their eyes is next level acknowledgement. It feels more personal and speaks not only to my work but to the relationships I’ve foraged.

2. When/how did you get into it?

I went to see a dermatologist about my pigmentation in 1995. I had been a notorious sunbaker during the ’70s and had damaged my skin. He was an older gentleman, old school and reputable. He was looking for an RN to work within his busy practice. I was ready for something new. We clicked. So, I changed nursing careers. He taught me the founding principles of skin and aesthetic medicine, delivering care with respect and kindness. Not long after, the dermal filler company, QMED (now Galderma), needed clinical trainers to launch their brand in Australia. It turned out that I was natural with the needle and was injecting Collagen™️, which was about to be superseded by this next generation bad boy dermal filler, Restylane. After trialling for the company at Sydney Fashion Week, I got the job, injecting a lineup of models, creating beautiful lips performing in front of fashionistas and curious medicos alike. That role took me around Australia and New Zealand, training plastic surgeons, cosmetic doctors, and nurses. I discovered the Sunshine Coast along the way and established my cosmetic clinic, The Cosmetic Studio Noosa. That was twenty years ago, and the rest, as they say, is history!

3. What do you love about your job?

I love the people contact and how my creativity and know-how can change how a person feels about themselves. Using injectables combines craft and science that requires great skill and understanding of the human condition. Engaging with someone, getting to know them, establishing their trust, and delivering comfortable, natural-looking, realistic and lovely results is the jobs greatest reward. And, of course, the conversations are enthralling and laced with laughter and mischief!

4. What would you like to say to all those who voted for you?

Dear Friends of The Studio. Whether you’ve seen me for two months or twenty years, please know that this gesture speaks reams of your regard for me and your experiences at The Studio. I feel delightfully validated, and it made my day. Thank You for your unwavering loyalty and this gorgeous acknowledgment. It means more than I can say. x

5. How long have you been doing this?

I have worked as a cosmetic nurse for 25 years. I was 36 years old when I started, and I’m 62 now. So, I’ve had the advantage of witnessing my own facial and skin ageing over three decades, learning the adage Less Is More. All of which has helped me relate to and help my clients look their best by ageing gracefully, with just a little help along the way!

6. What are your plans for the future?

While we are a thriving small business, I will continue to cultivate my team of diverse and dynamic women who are beautiful and talented individuals. Staying relevant means keeping up to date with the latest innovations and technologies while embracing safety and ethical standards. Most important is respecting and valuing the people entrusted in our care, our clients!
