Hydrate Your Skin & Restore Collagen

Skinboosters can be used in all different areas including:
- Lower third of the face (for crêpey, dehydrated skin)
- Fine Lines around the eyes (to thicken skin fibres and reduce crêpey, wrinkly skin)
- Nose to Mouth Lines
- Acne Scars to lift and lighten scarring
- Lips for subtle natural results and ultimate hydration (also known as a Lip Drink)
- Crêpey Skin on the Neck & Décolletage
- Ring lines on the Neck

BEFORE & AFTER RESULTS
HOW MUCH IS A SKINBOOSTER TREATMENT?
Skinboosters cost $360 per ml. One ml can soften the area around your mouth or softly fill and hydrate your lips. Some people need more than one ml because the areas needed to correct are greater or bigger requiring more mls. How much you need can also depend on your skin’s quality to begin with and also what kind of results you are after. This will be determined at your complimentary consultation where we will chat about your expectations and work out a treatment plan that is right for you. We offer cost effective Skin Booster packages where multiple treatments are needed. Please see our PRICES page for more.
HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?
The Skinboosters gel-like filling ingredient is known to last from 6-9 months. But as we have seen clinically and in various studies, the thickening of collagen fibres leaves the skin looking luxuriously supple and hydrated for much longer. As we know, this is client dependant on lifestyle, genetics and age, which determines how fast your body naturally breaks down your collagen stores. Some clients who have had multiple or regular Skinbooster treatments eventually build up such good strong collagen stores that they only need a top up once every year or two. The more you look after your skin the more Skinboosters will look after you!
HOW DOES IT HYDRO-BOOST THE SKIN?
Its ability to draw moisture back into our skin is legendary. Those with dehydrated, crêpey, dry or sun-damaged skins are instantly given a hydration boost after just one treatment. The skin not only looks hydrated and supple it feels it too. Other cosmetic treatments or topical creams used to hydrate the skin are no match to Skinboosters powerful water drawing properties. Your skin will be glowing!
HOW DOES IT STIMULATE COLLAGEN?
As we begin to age naturally wrinkles and lines begin to form on our face. This is because we begin to break down the collagen fibres, which provide the elasticity, vitality and bounce in our skin. In fact, we stop producing a percentage of collagen every year from around our forties, so our skin looses its elasticity, allowing opportunistic lines and crinkles to start forming on our face, neck, chest and hands.
Our collagen fibres are crucial in maintaining the skin’s structure. Like a strong network of scaffolding, collagen fibres keep our skin firm and supple, holding everything together. However, we can accelerate the destruction of our natural collagen by sun baking, smoking and the over use of alcohol and other drugs which all play a role in the daily destruction of our natural collagen stores. These life style factors cause premature ageing of the skin, creating deep lines, loss of elasticity and give the skin a sallow dehydrated appearance.
As a consequence these clients get less benefit and longevity from collagen rejuvenation treatments until they cease these habits. The good news is that Skinboosters have been clinically proven to thicken our existing collagen fibres, making them stronger and more elastic. This process is called ‘Collagen Stretching’ and takes up to 4-6 weeks to re-build and strengthen our collagen matrix. As a result the skins tone and texture are vastly improved, the skin thickens where it was once fragile and hyper-ageing, with a return to its former suppleness and bounce.
HOW DOES IT SOFTEN LINES & WRINKLES?
A Skinbooster is a very fine Dermal Filler, so it is used on very fine to medium lines and over areas of thin skin where subtle improvements and support are needed. Skinboosters are NOT thick volume lifting fillers, they are unable to fill deep folds or lift sunken cheeks; we have other fillers for those jobs. But Skinboosters can do just about any thing else. They can be used in multiple areas to rejuvenate and hydrate, giving your skin a natural looking yet subtle youth and vitality.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE DERMAL FILLERS SAFE?
At The Cosmetic Studio we understand that having a cosmetic procedure (especially if it is your first time) can be a little daunting, there are numerous anti aging products and treatment options available to you, so how do you know what is the best and safest?
Two important facts to consider when deciding on a treatment are, the safety of the product being used and the qualifications, skill and experience of the person providing the treatment.
At The Cosmetic Studio we only use dermal filler products that have a proven safety record. Federal law prevents us from saying the name of the product (please contact us if you would like more information). What I can tell you is, they are made in Sweden and have been used here in Australia for over 12 years, longer than any other dermal filler and have performed over 15 million treatments worldwide, their safety record speaks for itself.
As with any medical procedure there are potential side effects that should be fully explained to you prior to undergoing your treatment. Most of these are injection related such as swelling, bruising and discomfort which will resolve over a few days. As part of your treatment we will discuss with you, your medical history, current medications, illness or allergies that may impact on your suitability to undergo treatment with dermal fillers.
HOW LONG WILL YOUR TREATMENT TAKE?
Depending on the area being treated and the dermal filler used, most treatments can be performed over a ½ to 1 hour appointment. Sometimes we will ask you to come in earlier for application of a topical aneasthetic cream.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE DERMAL FILLER AND YOUR RESULT ONCE THE FILLER HAS GONE?
Over time the dermal filler is slowly metabolised in the same way that our bodies normally metabolise our own naturally occuring compound, (as explained in “how long will my results last”) this occurs gradually and it is recommended to retreat the area prior to it depleting completely, this way your result will be maintained for a much longer period of time.
However, you won’t fall apart if you choose not to retreat the area, it will simply return to its original state prior to treatment, in fact, even if you only did one treatment and never did it again you would still be in a better position than had you not had any treatments, partly due to the residual effects of increased hydration and collagen production and partly due to the fact that the areas treated won’t age at the same rate whilst dermal filler is present.
WHAT WILL YOU LOOK LIKE IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOUR TREATMENT?
As with any procedure there may be temporary associated side effects which are expected and therefore what you see on the day of your treatment is not the end result.
We will discuss with you prior to your treatment any potential side effects, and how best to manage these.
The most common expected side affects following treatment with dermal fillers are:
In most cases this is minimal and will resolve over 24 – 48 hours. We will advise you on the best ways to reduce and resolve swelling at completion of your treatment.
In any procedure where skin is penetrated there is a potential risk of bruising. In most cases bruises are tiny and can be easily covered with makeup. Some medications can increase the incidence of bruising and we will discuss this with you prior to your treatment.
Mild discomfort is normal following treatment with dermal filler and is easily managed with mild pain relief (paracetamol), applying ice packs to the treated areas and avoiding activities that can increase swelling, bruising and discomfort such as, strenuous exercise, spas and saunas, and some medications.
After care information will be explained to you at the completion of your treatment.
WHEN CAN YOU HAVE A DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT?
After your consultation, you will be provided with a personalised treatment recommendation plan. You may like to take some time to consider your options and book your treatment for another day, or, if you decide you would like to commence your treatment straight away this (time permitting) may also be done at the same appointment.
WHEN SHOULD YOU COME BACK TO THE CLINIC?
Following your treatment with dermal fillers we will advise you regarding aftercare. In the days following your treatment if you have any concerns or questions please call the clinic.
We also offer a review appointment at around 2 weeks following your treatment, there is no charge for this appointment and allows us to assess your results, answer any questions and ensure you are happy with your results.
Future appointments and treatments can be discussed on an ongoing basis, we will advise you as to how often you may need to attend the clinic.
WILL TREATMENT WITH DERMAL FILLERS HURT?
This is one of the most common questions I am asked and for most clients it is something they are concerned about. I’m sure you are familiar with the phrase “no pain, no gain” At The Cosmetic Studio our aim is “maximum gain, minimal pain”
To ensure your comfort throughout your procedure it is sometimes necessary to administer a small amount of local anaesthetic to the area being treated, using either a topical anaesthetic cream or tiny injections of a short acting local anaesthetic to completely numb the area.
Most dermal fillers now come with anaesthetic already in them, meaning fewer requirements for injected local anaesthetic.
WILL YOU STILL LOOK LIKE YOU? (I DON’T WANT TO LOOK PLASTIC OR WEIRD!)
You can rest assured that you will still look like you, just a fresher and more youthful you!
In most cases we are not adding anything that you didn’t already have, just simply restoring, replenishing and rejuvenating what has been lost over the years as we age.
No-one wants to appear as if they belong in a wax museum, or have just come out of a wind tunnel. We have all seen the pictures of many a Hollywood star who has gone too far, they begin to look strange and fake, that is not a desirable outcome. We can promise you that at The Cosmetic Studio it is all about achieving subtle and natural looking results, so that you look and feel great at any age.
HOW LONG WILL YOUR RESULT LAST?
As previously mentioned the ingredient in dermal fillers is a natural component of our skin, the dermal filler that we use at The Cosmetic Studio Noosa is less than 1 % modified from its original form, it is the closest of all the dermal fillers to our own natural occurring compound, which means our bodies are unlikely to recognise it as foreign and won’t set about trying to metabolise it (break it down) any faster than we would our own. This compound also has the ability to bind water (something our bodies are less efficient at doing as we get older) so even long after the dermal filler itself has metabolised we are left with residual hydration and our own collagen that has been stimulated to grow as a by-product of the injecting process.
As a general rule, finer dermal fillers injected into more mobile areas such as lips, lines around the mouth and fine lines around the eyes will typically last around 6 – 9 months*. Thicker fillers injected more deeply into the skin in areas such as cheeks, eye hollows and deep folds will typically last around 9 – 12 months*, longer if subsequent top up treatments are carried out at around 4 to 5 months* after your initial treatment.
The length of time that your dermal filler result will last will vary dependant on a person’s age, skin condition and lifestyle habits as well as the type and amount of dermal filler used and the area treated. Just like ageing is a natural process that occurs over time, preventing, achieving and maintaining results is also a gradual process that may involve more than one treatment.
