• How does INFINI RF work for Underarm Sweating?

INFINI combines Skin Needling and Radio Frequency (RF) technologies in a single treatment to give maximum results. The micro needles deliver powerful boost of fractionated RF energy, creating thousands of micro coagulation zones which helps to accurately target the over active sweat glands that reside at specific areas in the underarm skin.

  • Does the treatment hurt?

Generally most find this treatment quick and comfortable. However there are some people who have a lower pain tolerance. For those people, we have found that multiple applications of our powerful numbing cream with the occlusion of cling wrap vastly helps the numbing agent to absorb into the skin offering improved numbness and comfort. Most patients report the procedure as a 3-4 out of 10 for discomfort (10 being highest pain). Each area is usually treated with 3 depths and 2 passes for each depth. The skin may feel hot and tight and pinpoint bleeding may occur during treatment but quickly resolves. All clients are put under the soothing and calming HEALITE II immediately after which rapidly heals the heated tissues.

  • How long does a treatment take to perform?

Before performing your treatment we go over the process and aftercare in consultation. Then, after obtaining your consent and take pre-treatment photos, we prepare your skin with a numbing agent, all of which takes about 30 minutes. The INFINI treatment takes approximately 30 minutes to perform depending on the area treated. We then put the HEALITE II over the area for 10-15 minutes to sooth and calm your skin. You can expect to be in-clinic an hour and a half.

*Don’t forget we offer FREE PARKING in the Bay Village while you are with us!

  • What will my underarms look and feel like after my treatment?

Immediately after the treatment your underarms may feel slightly warm to hot. The area may look red, like a sunburn or windburn, however this generally resolves within 24 hours. Rarely, some individuals may have redness or mild swelling around the area for a few days. There may be some flaking or minuscule scabbing from the micro needling in the first week after your treatment, which will come away naturally. During the healing phase, over the next week or so, the treated area may feel itchy and slightly warm which is a sign of the skin healing and collagen forming.

  • What is the aftercare following my underarm treatment?

Immediately after your treatment we thoroughly cleanse your skin with a gentle antiseptic lotion, then we put you under the skin soothing and repairing HEALITE II, which will soothe and calm down your skin considerably. In the rare case that it is still feeling hot and uncomfortable you can apply a cooling ice pack wrapped in a clean towel at home.

YOU ARE NOT TO APPLY TOPICAL LOTIONS OR DEODORANTS TO YOUR SKIN FOR 12 HOURS AFTER. This includes; roller deodorants, sprays, crystals, cleaners, moisturisers, soothing creams, aloe vera, essential oils, paw-paw ointment, burn ease lotions – NOTHING! This is because you will have multiple tiny micro punctures that will take 12 hours to heal over from the micro needling, any topical like deodorant can cause stinging or burning and any contact a can allow bacteria and germs to easily enter your skin. Avoidance of infection is paramount.

  • When will I start to see results?

A reduction in sweat can be noticed in approximately 7 days. The process of sweat reduction can take up to 4-6 weeks. You can expect on average a 20-25% reduction in sweating with each treatment. For best results we recommend 3-4 treatments. The number of treatments required will be assessed and discussed at your consultation.

  • How many treatments will I need?

How many treatments you require will depend on the severity of your underarm sweating. Generally speaking, 3-4 consecutive treatment sessions are needed. However, the best way to determine how many treatments you might need is through discussion during your free consultation.

  • How long do I wait between treatments?

Treatments are usually spaced in-between the sweat gland elimination and the skins recovery cycle. This often takes 4-6 weeks to fully complete development, so treatments are booked every 4 weeks for uniformity. There is no negative impact on treatment outcomes if treatments are performed anywhere between 3-7 week intervals.

  • How long will the results last for?

Once the micro sweat gland has been completely blocked it is no longer able to produce sweat. Therefore sweating is permanently eliminated from this gland. However, we have hundreds upon hundreds of tiny sweat glands in our armpits, a few of which may remain even after your INFINI treatments. These few remaining glands may produce some sweat but it is usually undetected after a course of INFINI. These factors will be assessed and discussed during your consultation.

  • Who is NOT suitable for an INFINI RF treatment?

INFINI is ‘Good Science’ that delivers ‘Good Results’. But it is only as good as the overall good health of each individual having the treatment. Unfortunately, those who have been seriously unwell, have a negative metabolic state, or a suppressed immune system will have deficient collagen stimulation and healing abilities, and are not suitable candidates. Likewise, heavy smokers, sunbathers, or those with a stressful lifestyle may not respond as well or might need more treatments to get results, which can be minimal at best. Our medical staff will discuss more suitable treatment options at your consultation.

INFINI cannot be performed on or near broken or infected skin i.e. active acne out breaks or cold sores. Please inform our staff if you are a cold sore sufferer so we can prepare your skin and reduce the risk of outbreaks before your treatment.

*Results and longevity of treatments vary on an individual basis and can be dependant on a person’s age, genetics, skin type, skin condition, environmental factors and lifestyle habits. Just like ageing is a natural process that occurs over time, preventing, achieving and maintaining results is also a gradual process that may involve more than one treatment.
