Living in this fanatic Queensland climate, we are constantly exposed to the harsh sun, increasing the appearance of pigmentation, burst capillaries, risking sunspots and further skin damage and premature ageing.

Luckily, the sun’s intensity is significantly lower in winter, and people spend less time outdoors with minimal sun and harmful ray exposure. This allows for the perfect time frame for optimum results and a problem-free recovery, making the cooler months ideal to lighten, brighten, and even out our complexion and skin with laser IPL light therapies.

Winter is coming! So, get ready to say ‘Goodbye’ to pigmentation, age spots, veins and broken capillaries on the face, neck, chest, arms, upper hands and legs, and ‘Hullo’ to beautiful clear, silky-smooth skin with our skin expert and Light Queen, Brooke!

Profhilo treatment

Laser IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a light-delivering apparatus that is a non-invasive treatment. It has gained popularity over the years due to its effectiveness in treating various skin conditions, including skin pigmentation, broken capillaries, and veins. The therapy uses high-intensity light pulses to target melanin in the skin, reducing the appearance of brown spots, age spots, and other pigmentation issues. It can also target small blood vessels and cherry angiomas, plus reduce the appearance of spider veins and broken capillaries. And all without damaging or affecting the surrounding skin due to its advanced technology and the skill and expertise of our laser technician, Brooke.

What to expect at your appointment with Brooke:

Consultation: Before undergoing Laser IPL treatment, we must schedule a consultation with our qualified and caring Dermal Therapist and Laser Licenced Specialist, Brooke, who has over 21 years of experience in the Skin industry. During this session, Brooke will assess your skin condition, discuss your expectations, determine if you are an ideal candidate for the treatment and create a personalised treatment plan for you.

Preparation: On the day of the treatment, you must arrive at the clinic with skin that is ready for treatment. This means no sun tans, sunburns, or false tans on the skin! It’s always best to arrive at your appointments with a clean, fresh face for pre-treatment photos of your skin. Our friendly and helpful front desk staff will provide you with cleansing wipes, if need be, to remove your makeup before your photos are taken.

Treatment: Once Brooke has explained the process and prepped your skin, she’ll apply protective radiation eye goggles on you and herself, ready for light therapy magic! The handheld IPL device is gently pressed against the skin, emitting intense bright light pulses. Patients may experience a warm sensation or mild snapping feeling, similar to the flick-feeling of a rubber band. She’ll use the cryotherapy-cooling device to treat capillaries and veins to ease unwanted sensations. The procedure usually takes 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treated area, which gives plenty of time for chatting and catching up on the latest goss in between!

Post-Treatment Care: After the Laser IPL treatment, some temporary redness and mild swelling may occur, but these typically subside within a few hours to a few days. It is essential to follow the aftercare instructions provided by Brooke, which include avoiding sun exposure and using sunscreen regularly. Brooke is strict with her aftercare advice, and for good reason; you could inadvertently cause more damage to your freshly treated skin with unwanted after-effects. Therefore, we always heed her sage advice for a problem-free recovery with pleasing results!

Effectiveness and Long-Term Results:

Laser IPL pigmentation and vein removal treatments generally require multiple sessions, typically spaced four weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. The exact number of sessions will depend on the severity of the issue and individual skin characteristics. Clients often notice a significant improvement in skin tone and texture after the first few sessions, with continued progress throughout the treatment. The targeted light energy also has the added benefit of stimulating collagen production, which helps improve skin texture, rejuvenates the skin, and gives you a youthful glow. And who doesn’t want that?

*It is important to note that results may vary from person to person. Therefore, maintenance sessions may be recommended to sustain the achieved results in the long term.
