Dermapen Skin Needling is a natural approach to skin rejuvenation. This treatment uses a powerful medical needling device that creates tiny micro-punctures in the skin. These micro-punctures stimulate the skin to produce collagen and elastin and as a result heal common skin conditions such as:
Assists with pitted acne scarring & other scars by stimulating collagen cells which thicken skin depressions
Helps to dry & clear up active acne breakouts & improve skin texture
Tightens the appearance of large or open pores & helps regulate oily skin
Helps soften fine superficial facial lines by thickening collagen cells which strengthens the skin
Rejuvenates dry sun damaged skin by boosting collagen growth, assisting with skin cell turnover & improving tone & texture
Helps to improve the appearance of thicken lumpy skin by resurfacing the skins surface that is damaged from stretching
Targets & lifts the pigment causing melanin that cause freckles, age spots, hormonal pigmentation and uneven skin tone
Assists by strengthening the tiny capillary walls which in turn improve skin tone and red flushing colour

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long until I see results from my treatment?
You may begin to see positive results 4-6 weeks after your first treatment, however you will see more significant results after 4 to 6 sessions. Over the next 6 to nearly 12 months, you will continue seeing signs of improvement; the recommended post treatment care should be followed for best results. If you combine your dermapen treatment with a peel then you may even notice results after 1-2 weeks.
Is the Dermapen treatment painful?
At The Cosmetic Studio Noosa we apply numbing cream to the area before treatment to reduce discomfort. Most people actually find the treatment quite comfortable and relaxing however areas such as the nose and forehead may be a little more sensitive. If you are having deep scarring and lines treated then a deeper treatment is required which can sometimes be a little more uncomfortable but is generally well tolerated.
Will I experience downtime after my Dermapen treatment?
There will be facial redness that will last no longer than 12 to 48 hours post the treatment. Redness an be covered up by applying mineral makeup. On rare occasions, you may also experience flaky skin post treatment. If you combine your dermapen treatment with a peel then this is a more intensive treatment and there will be moderate to heavy peeling generally starting after 2 days and may take up to a week to recover.
Do I need to prepare my skin before having a Dermapen?
No skin preparation is required before treatment with Dermapen. However we do recommend using active skincare in combination with your treatment for the best results. At The Cosmetic Studio Noosa we stock VI Derm and Alpha H skincare ranges which contain active ingredients such as vitamin A, vitamin C and alpha-hydroxy acids that help strengthen and repair the skin, and provide many anti ageing benefits. If you suffer with pigmentation or have very sun damaged skin we highly recommend starting active skincare to strengthen to skin and start the process of fading pigmentation before your Dermapen treatment.
How long should I wait after having a Dermal Filler treatment to have a Dermapen?
Generally we recommend waiting two weeks after having dermal filler before having a dermapen treatment. You can also have your dermapen treatment first and simply wait two weeks before having dermal filler, which will give your skin enough time to heal.
How many treatments will I need?
The amount of treatments needed will vary between individuals depending on the condition of the skin and severity of lines and/or scarring. As a general recommendation:
Scarring: 6 treatments, 2-4 weeks apart
Rejuvenation: 3-6 treatments, 4 weeks apart
Stretch marks: 10 treatments, 3 weeks apart
Treatment schedule to be used as a guide only.
